I am currently a senior research scientist at CSIRO ICT Centre in Hobart, Australia.

Before that, I worked as a research scientist at National ICT Australia (NICTA) in Sydney, Australia from 2004.  

I am also an Honorary Associate of School of Information Technologies at University of Sydney, and a member of the ARC Research Network in Enterprise Information Infrastructure (EII) .

Before joining NICTA, I got my PhD in 2004 from the Data and Knowledge Engineering group of the School of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at the University of Queensland . My supervisor was Prof. Xiaofang Zhou . Before that, I graduated from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 1999 with two bachelor degrees: one in computer science , the other in business.

The project I am working on is Genome Tracker, which uses Web Services to support cancer genomics research, which is an active field of Bioinformatics.

While at NICTA, I have been involved in the VALACON (another page) and Braccetto (another page) project.

• The VALACON project use network visualization and analysis to understand complex systems. It crosses the boundary between Human-Computer Interaction and Computer graphics, and is commonly known Information Visualization. One of the main results of the project is a 3D graph visualization package called GEOMI (click on the "Gallery" link on the left)
• The Braccetto (means 'arm in arm' in Italian) project focuses on Computer Supported Cooperative Work. We use this big table to support intense remote collaboration.
