Interests

I have a wide range of interests in terms of my non-academic life, which include sports, music, piloting, and bridge.

I enjoy sports: swimming, badminton, tennis, basketball, table tennis, ten-pin bowling, and pool/billiards (I'm not sure if the last two count as sports...). I am currently looking for some place close to Rockdale to play badminton, so if you have any clues, please let me know. Now I just hope to find a more affordable badminton club to play in...
Found a reasonable place to play now-- UTS badminton club, play in Sydney Boys' High. Back to the seeking-a-court state... Refer to my Links page for more information, or simply contact me.

I'm a flutist. I used to play in a brass-wind band, a Jazz Band, as well as some state-wide bands back in the high school times and had some of the greatest moments there. Now I play in the Sydney University Wind Orchestra with an intention to defer the obvious decay of skills...

Bridge (What is bridge?) is probably the biggest thing going on in my life now, aside from my PhD research, of course :p. I have been playing regularly since May 2003. I was lucky enough to have an experienced partner, Ben Nicholson when I was in NZ, so the games have been coming along pretty well for me. We, along with three other teammates John Whyte, Blaire Fisher, and Katherine Muller, won the Interprovincial Teams in Youth Division at the New Zealand Congress in 2004 ( the plaque). Just few weeks after the triumph, John and I (surprisingly!) won an Open 3A tournament in Tokoroa. That was my first ever Open A tournament, too! There are some useful bridge links at my Links page, for learners and improvers.

I am not really a big fan of computer games, because some of them are simply too addictive for me. But somehow I started playing Quake III since the first day I arrived the University of Sydney (well, more specifically, G61b). Couldn't remember when I last played Quake....that was my high school times (thanks to Robert Kim :))... RISK is a very good board game, and a nice computer game as well. I do play some small games. Here's a portion of my collections.
