This is the web site of Dr. Michael Charleston, senior lecturer at the School of Information Technologies.
You can find information on my research interests, people I work with,
teaching and other miscellanea on these pages.
My training is in mathematics and physics, but my research is now deeply
embedded in bioinformatics. I have been called a
biomathematician, a bioinformatician, a computational biologist, and many
other things.
My research takes many forms and includes, but is not restricted to,
phylogenetics, cophylogeny, microarray analysis, individual-based
modelling, protein structure prediction, and viral evolution.
In my spare time I enjoy programming. No, really.
