Sonnet XXVI -- Response To An Invitation

Tamara Jane the very name spoke loud
Always evoked the thoughts of youthful age
Made manifest within an ageing crowd,
An heav'nly grace in a corporeal cage.
Regrettably such bloom is now near dead,
Alas the years have crowded on your heels.
Janus' twin gaze has swung about and fled
Past one and twenty years and youth repealed.

Onward into the depths of age you fly.
Let not howe'er these words bear enmity
Lest like your youth the joke should fade and die.
On one thing ponder in infirmity:
Consider all that God has done for you,
Know that his ageless love is ever true.
