A Specially Modified Finger Daemon

This document details some local modification to our finger program which we are running on some machines in our department. Basically, finger has been changed to accept requests of the form string%user@host.domain.name. When such a request is made of finger, it runs the .finger file in the user's home directory if present with string as its argument. Normal finger requests are handled as expected.
