The Girls' Programming Network
Want to learn how computers really work?
Want to write programs that do what you want?
Want to improve your programming skills for Software Design and Development?
Want to meet other girls also interested in IT?
Then the Girls' Programming Network is for you!
The Girls' Programming Network (GPN) is run by girls and for girls. The tutors are a mix of University IT students (from the University of Sydney and others) as well as professional software engineers. GPN is targeted at academically gifted girls in years 9–12 who are interested in IT.
During the kick-off day you'll meet the tutors (us!) and other students and learn the basics of computer programming in Python. We'll also have fun, eat food and do some other activities.
After that, we'll be meeting once a fortnight, to have fun learning more Python skills, developing games and other awesome software projects. Check out the past, present and future projects to see what girls have done, and what you could be doing!
Please note you can join the Girls' Programming Network at any time just by registering and then coming along! You don't need to have made the kickoff meeting.
If you have any queries about the program, please email girls@it.usyd.edu.au or ring Dr. James Curran on 9036 6037 or 0431 013 320.
