Information
I am an Associate Professor in the School of Information Technologies (formerly Basser Department of Computer Science), University of Sydney. I co-lead the Computer Human Adapted Interaction (CHAI) Group with Associate Professor Judy Kay. I have interests in context aware systems, message delivery systems, customisation/personalisation using user models and related areas. In 1999 our Jazz Overnight system was awarded the Tony Staley Award for innovation and in 1998 I was inducted into the Australian Internet Hall of Fame for contributing to the development of the internet in Australia.

From 1998 to 2006 I was the prime mover in the development of a new building for the School of Information Technologies. This is now completed and was occupied by the School in July 2006.
