Minor in Information Technology
The School of Information Technologies will offer a Minor in IT from Semester 1, 2008.
Students who have completed the requirements for any degree* at the University of Sydney can obtain a Minor in Information Technology, if they:
- completed at least 18 credit points from 2000-level or above units of study offered by the School of IT within their degree program.
- the units can include those taken over several years, starting before 2008.
The School of IT will issue a certificate of completion to all students who satisfy the Minor requirements, upon application.
* Excluding BCST, BCST (Adv), BIT and BIT/BCom
Why should I do a Minor in IT?
- IT is used in every field and IT ideas are changing every field
- IT skills help you do any job better
- Being multiskilled is an advantage in career progression
- Most University of Sydney degrees have room for electives
Note: in most degrees you can do 2000-level units in third year as well as in second year.
